The holiday season and the end of the year is a wonderful time of reflection. It is an opportunity to look back at the year and evaluate what we have done. It is also a great time to thank those who have helped us along the way to get to where we are in life (business and personal).
Ordinarily, many of our daily interactions contain a certain level of conflict. Buying, selling, convincing, managing, working, arguing, competing, driving, standing in line, and so on put us at odds with our environment more often than we perhaps realize. Furthermore, political polarization, war, injustice, racism, discrimination, bigotry, and intolerances of all kinds that surround us contribute to that feeling even more.
Let’s celebrate the season by pushing frictions aside and thinking about the positive in our lives – Let’s be thankful and appreciative of what we all have in common, not what seems to set us apart! Please try to appreciate all that you have to be thankful for and make it a point to let all sentient beings in your life know how grateful you are.
Expressing gratitude is wonderful and powerful. Each time you sincerely thank someone, both you and the receiver benefit. Saying ‘thank you’ opens us up to other people and elevates our connection with them. Being thanked for what we do or who we are, makes us feel better and often makes us happier.
I want to thank my family, my friends, my team, and every sentient being I know for being in my life. On behalf of Fractional CMO & Marketing, I also want to express my gratitude to our clients, vendors, and our partners for our wonderful relationships and for helping us be better at what we do.
Happy Holidays!

Beware of Phishing Scams Involving Google My Business
By Jessie Walczak, Digital Marketing Specialist
At Fractional CMO & Marketing, we are always watching out for important information that can benefit our clients. Having an up to date and accurate Google My Business listing is a critical component to being found by potential customers. There is a recent phishing scam involving Google My Business listings that you need to be aware of!
Please be on the lookout for possible emails from these scammers!
This is how it happens: You will receive a request of ownership to the company’s Google My Business profile, in an email from Google My Business.
Below, you will see what the email from Google My Business will look like. IMPORTANT – If you receive this email, you MUST respond (using the instructions detailed below). If you do not respond, this scammer could potentially continue to fight and possibly receive access from Google.
If you need any help with your Google My Business listing, or have any questions, please feel free to contact Jessie at jessie@nullfractional-cmo.com.
From: Google Business Profile <businessprofile-noreply@nullgoogle.com> Subject: You’ve received an ownership request
What you need to do:
- Within the email, there is a blue button labeled Respond.
- Once you click this button, a new tab will open and you are prompted to accept, or reject.
- You must select reject. There is a space to add a reason, and I suggest entering the following:
- ” This individual is NOT associated with [enter business name]. This is SPAM”.
The Origins Of Black Friday
”Black Friday” is known today as the day after Thanksgiving and the one day you can get super great holiday shopping deals. But the first time the term was used was to reference an event on September 24, 1869 – the US gold market crash.
Jay Gould and Jim Fisk, two Wall Street financiers, had a reputation for being absolutely brutal and ruthless. They joined forces to buy up as much of America’s gold as they could, hedging their bets that it would skyrocket the price and allow them to unload that gold at an unbelievable profit. The market tanked, and bankruptcies in all classes of society resulted.
And now you know the real story behind “Black Friday”!
